What happens when you tie a knot around a skin tag?

I know it%26#039;s suppose to kill the circulation and die off, but what actually happens does it puss up or just turn black or blue and die?|||My boyfriend had skin tags under his arms. He asked me to tie a piece of thread tightly around the base of the tags. Within 4 days, the tags had %26quot;died%26quot; due to lack of blook supply. They turned black, and he just pulled them off his skin. No pus, no blood, no pain, no problem!|||I guess it depends on how big the skin tab is. If it is too big, I think a regular doctor can cut it off but if it%26#039;s little just tie a piece of thread around it at night when you go to sleep and it should fall off by the morning. It shouldn%26#039;t puss if you wash the area and your hands really well with alcohol. Good luck!|||It turns black.

Your Guide to Skin Tags

As we grow older, different growths and spots start coming out of skin. Skin tags are one such product of aging. The exact cause of skin tags is not known. They are also known as Acrochordons.

How Do They Look?

Skin tags look like small growths hanging with a stalk. These fleshy bumps are ugly in appearance and cause more of mental discomfort than physical.

Where Do They Appear?

Skin tags appear at different places such as neckline, below the breasts, underarms, and groin. They may also appear at different sites on the body.

Size:

They normally form in cluster of small tags of about 0.1 cm to big ones measuring up to 1 cm.

Removal:

If you can live with them, then it is ok. Otherwise, consult your doctor, who will remove them by one of the following methods.

* Surgically cutting them

* By freezing them

* By electro surgery

* By tying a suture around the stalk

The tag removal does not cause scar problem and the healing is over in a day or two. If you have keloid-forming tendency, your doctor may not remove the tags.|||I wouldn%26#039;t do anything like that without medical advice|||It turns black from lack of circulation and dies. Once it%26#039;s black, you can tug on it and it will come off.|||I wouldn%26#039;t advise you to do this, go to your doctor, its a simple procedure, if you try to do this yourself you may get an infection then end up paying out more money than if you had went to the doctor to begin with.|||never heard of such a thing
