What is the difference between a pigment and skin color?

Add any detail you wish.|||A pigment is a chemical generally containing chromium or other metals like iron, copper etc. Skin color is caused by MELANIN.Melanin is prepared in the body with amino acids like Tyrosine.|||Skin color is caused by melanin AND also by the coloration of underlying dermal tissues, including vascularization (another pigment, haemoglobin), and also the fat layer (usually light-colored). Report Abuse
|||Pigment does not have to do with skin necessarily, a paint can be tinted with a pigment. Apparently it is also %26quot;a dry colorant, usually an insoluble powder%26quot;.

Skin color is determined by the amount of melanin in one%26#039;s skin, relative to degrees of exposure to the sun.|||Skin color is because of pigment.|||Skin color depends on the pigments in your skin. To the person above, that%26#039;s a horrible analogy,|||Same as a LED diode and a tv monitor.
